FOOD COLLECTION and DISTRIBUTION

Our primary feeding program is the distribution of food to our network of hunger-relief charities that provide emergency groceries, meals and snacks to Texans in need.

Some of the resources needed to collect and distribute food to partner charities include:

  • A fleet of refrigerated trucks and licensed commercial drivers to pick up surplus fresh, frozen and dry product from food manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers;
  • Dry and refrigerated warehouse space that includes racking;
  • Forklifts and pallet jacks to move food from trucks to our warehouse to partner charities' vehicles
  • Trained staff to move, inventory and temporarily store the donated food;
  • The time and help of thousands of volunteers each year to sort, inspect and re-pack food that will go to our partner charities.

Distribution of surplus food by regional food banks like Tarrant Area Food Bank is also what saves billions of pounds of nutritious food from going to the dump.
