15th Annual Canstruction® Competition and Exhibition in

Tarrant County

North East Mall, Indoors during mall hours

1101 Melbourne Rd., Hurst 76053

Admission is Free

The public voted their favorite can-struction for the People's Choice Award.

The annual Canstruction® Competition and Exhibition features imaginative sculptures designed by architects, designers and engineers.

The canned and boxed foods used to build these intriguing works of art are later donated to Tarrant Area Food Bank.

The event is sponsored by the Fort Worth chapters of the Society for Design Administration (SDA) and The American Institute of Architects as part of a national public service project of SDA and its Canstruction® Foundation.

Winners of the local competition enter photographic images of their can-structions into the national judging for Best Meal, Best Use of Labels, Structural Ingenuity, Jurors’ Favorite and Honorable Mention.

Since 2003, several teams from Tarrant County have won a national/ international award. See the winning sculptures from the Fort Worth/Tarrant County 2013 Canstruction®.

Sponsorships

Each year, the Canstruction® Committee seeks sponsors for their Gala where the competition awards are announced and for expenses related to the competition and exhibition. In addition, the firms and schools that enter the competition seek sponsors for the purchase of the thousands of cans and other food items needed to build their sculptures.
