Bo Soderbergh

Executive Director

A native of Sweden, Bo Soderbergh was educated in Italy, Japan, England and the United States, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas Christian University (TCU). He was hired as executive director of Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) in 1997.

Mr. Soderbergh is a member and past president of Feeding Texas (formerly the Texas Food Bank Network), a statewide nonprofit working toward a hunger-free Texas. He is also a past president of the Rotary Club of Fort Worth.

Under Mr. Soderbergh’s leadership, TAFB implemented a computer inventory system, and by doubling the amount of refrigerated space and constructing a second freezer, equipped its 70,000 square-foot warehouse to handle increasing amounts of fresh produce, dairy products and frozen foods.

Mr. Soderbergh continues leading Tarrant Area Food Bank’s efforts to increase capacity to serve Tarrant County and 12 surrounding counties. Under his guidance, TAFB has developed and expanded programs to ensure that children, the elderly and families don’t have to go hungry. Tarrant Area Food Bank also works to create sustainable change by providing free nutrition education courses to help low-income families thrive on a limited budget and offering free job training to men and women to support their success in the culinary industry. In addition, TAFB provides free workshops on effective gardening techniques and supports the creation of community gardens in neighborhoods with limited access to healthy produce.

Mr. Soderbergh’s leadership has bolstered Tarrant Area Food Bank’s innovation in sourcing food and developing vital partnerships with members of the food industry, providing food and resources to a network of 300 Partner Agencies serving the hungry in North Texas, and building a dedicated base of donors and volunteers who support TAFB’s vision of communities where no one has to go hungry.
