Why? Because the nearly 49 million people in America—including 4.6 million Texas residents—who struggle with hunger often do so in silence. In Tarrant County and the other 12 counties served by Tarrant Area Food Bank, 1 of 4 children live in families struggling with food insecurity and hunger.
The food-insecure and the hungry live in our communities; they are our neighbors, our co-workers and our friends. Yet their struggles can go unheard. By simply encouraging others to join you, you can make a tangible contribution to mobilizing the public to solve hunger in the greater Fort Worth region, Texas and the nation.
You can help on behalf of the children, senior citizens, chronically ill, disabled and minimum-wage workers living in households that do not always have the resources to obtain enough nutritious food to support healthy, active minds and bodies.
